According to Catizen, CATI token consumption reached 30 million in Q1 2025, a 3.5x increase compared to Q4 2024. Data from trading platform Bybit shows that Catizen’s on-chain user base has surpassed 3.3 million.
The ecosystem's expansion is being driven by a surge in new users across key Asian markets, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asian countries. The platform’s tech breakthroughs are linked to the integration of AI and the development of “AI Cats” — emotionally interactive virtual pets that combine gaming experiences with social interaction and artificial intelligence.
In 2025, Catizen plans to launch over 200 games across social, strategy, and casual genres, aiming to create a “game matrix effect.” The company refers to its long-term vision as “Web3 Disney.”
“We’re working on a new trading game, Cattea, which will offer significant token utility scenarios. In 2025, we’ll launch 200 games, each burning tens of millions of tokens, further fueling ecosystem growth,” said Tim Wong, Chairman of the Catizen Foundation.
The goal: 200 million CATI tokens annually
Catizen’s roadmap outlines its ambition to become a Web3 mini-app platform, mimicking WeChat’s successful model of a “light app, heavy ecosystem.”
The rapid increase in CATI consumption is also driven by a 30% discount on token usage in games. However, current usage levels are still short of the company’s annual target of 200 million CATI tokens, which it hopes to reach through the release of new games and utility options — including reinvesting earned tokens back into gameplay.
As we wrote, since the launch of its Mini App Center in August 2024, Catizen has introduced over 20 games and successfully integrated the CATI payment system in October, serving a user base of over 55 million, primarily within the Telegram ecosystem.
