Joao Wedson: HYPE breaks out but sustained upside is uncertain against BTC
Joao Wedson highlights that HYPE has broken out of a short-term distribution phase. However, he cautions that investors should not assume this momentum will continue indefinitely, especially as BTC shows signs of capitulation.
He notes that strong rallies against BTC have occurred before with many altcoins in previous cycles, but these assets have struggled to sustain longer-term independent growth beyond initial surges.
Wedson has previously identified a shift among crypto on-chain analysts toward narrative-driven analysis, warning that many narratives appear manipulated in recent years, according to a recent article. In a separate post, he said the ratio of Bitcoin to Ethereum exchange reserves can provide a signal for relative performance between ETH and BTC, citing exchange flows as a key indicator in his analysis. These comments frame Wedson's cautious approach to interpreting current altcoin rallies.
