The purpose of creating the TU Overall Score is to make the search for secure and reliable brokerage companies easier for the visitors of our website. We believe that it is a very important mission as, unfortunately, not every company in the financial industry is worthy of trust. According to our idea, the TU Overall Score indicator should answer the biggest question of all: “Can I trust this broker with my money?”

TU Overall Score employs a unique algorithm created by the team of our experts to allow traders to obtain a full assessment of any broker at first sight. We assign individual scores for each broker based on our tailor-made methodology. The scores range within 0.01 – 10.0 (the higher the indicator the more trust the broker has).

Based on these scores, we compile our main rating of companies. Companies with the highest scores are placed at the top of the rating.

To help you gain a better understanding, we divided the rating into the following parts.

Brokers with scores from 10.0 to 8:

These brokers are considered the most reliable companies in the industry. To put it simply, we would open and fund an account with such a broker without any hesitation, which we actually did. Notably, a broker being ranked within the Top 20 is not a guarantee that the company is void of any trouble. Our evaluation of risks cannot serve as a guarantee of a broker’s solvency in the long run. Some events, for example such as the Swiss National Bank abandoning the euro ceiling in 2015, simply cannot be predicted, while they could have serious negative consequences for brokers.

Brokers with scores from 7.99 to 7.0:

We believe that companies ranked within this group are also quite reliable and deserving trust. Only one level away from our desired “highly trusted” list, these “reliable” brokerage companies are a good choice. They just may have fewer licenses of regulatory authorities or a different corporate structure than the brokers with the highest trust score.

Brokers with scores from 6.99 to 5.0:

These are mid-level companies that we consider mostly reliable, but recommend checking them more thoroughly before opening and funding a real account. In the very least, we recommend that traders check whether a company in this group has the right to operate in the country of a trader’s residence.

Brokers with scores from 4.99 to 3.0:

We believe that companies in this group must be thoroughly analyzed before opening an account. Their low position in the ratings does not mean that the brokers operate without a trustworthy license or have problems. However, we do recommend learning in detail why their TU Overall Score is lower than that of other companies and consider looking for a more reliable broker with better conditions.

Brokers with scores from 2.99 and lower:

Our experts do not recommend working with these companies ranked below 120th position. It is possible to find a broker with good regulation among these companies, but they most certainly do not compare well with the leaders of the rating by several parameters. These could be brand’s popularity, high fees, negative client reviews. You need to consider all these factors, if you are thinking of opening an account with such a company.
