In a move aimed at enhancing capital efficiency for traders, OANDA, a global leader in online multi-asset trading services, has launched a new incentive that offers clients up to 7% interest on unused margin balances.

This feature allows traders to earn passive income on funds sitting idle in their accounts—a strategic benefit in today’s high-rate environment.

The program applies to eligible account holders and is designed to bridge the gap between active trading and long-term capital management.

Program features

1. Sign up and make a deposit.

2. Interest rates of 6%, 6.5% and 7% apply for the first 90 days from account opening.

• Earn 7% when your daily unused margin is between €10k and €25,000.

• 6.5% - margin is between €3k and €9,999.

• 6% when your daily unused margin does not exceed €2,999.

3. The interest earned for a particular calendar month will be credited to your OANDA account within 10 working days after the last calendar day of the month.

A strategic benefit for modern traders

OANDA’s new offering responds to a growing demand from retail and institutional traders seeking yield-enhancing strategies while managing their portfolios. By paying interest on unused margin balances, the broker delivers a financial return even when traders are not in active positions.

The up-to-7% rate makes OANDA competitive not just within the CFD and forex sector but also compared to traditional savings or cash accounts. The flexibility of the program ensures that traders maintain full access to their funds while benefiting from an additional income stream.

Who is OANDA and why it matters

Founded in 1996, OANDA is recognized globally for its transparent pricing, robust trading platforms, and strong regulatory compliance. With offerings across forex, indices, commodities, and crypto, the broker serves clients ranging from retail beginners to institutional participants.

This interest-earning initiative enhances OANDA’s appeal to clients who value both trading performance and capital efficiency. As financial markets remain volatile, the ability to generate return from unutilized funds may influence client retention and attract more conservative traders.
