Octa supports Kelantan residents after deadly floods

Octa supports Kelantan residents after deadly floods Octa delivers aid to Malaysia's flood victims

Octa, an international brokerage company, has provided humanitarian aid to the people of Malaysia affected by devastating floods on the eve of the New Year 2025.

The natural disaster swept through ten states, forcing more than 147,000 people to flee their homes. The state of Kelantan was hit the hardest, with at least 93,000 residents left homeless due to rising floodwaters, according to Octa’s official website.

Joint efforts of Octa and Azeehan

To support the local population during this challenging time, Octa joined forces with its Malaysian partner, Azeehan, to organize the targeted distribution of humanitarian aid. The relief packages included food, drinking water, hygiene products, towels, pillows, blankets, and cleaning supplies to help residents recover from the disaster.

“After the catastrophe, thousands of people were forced to leave their homes. They lacked even the most basic means of survival. This is why we truly appreciate Octa’s support. This charitable initiative has been a tremendous help to displaced members of local communities in overcoming the impact of the floods,” said an Azeehan representative.

Kelantan’s recovery efforts

The floods caused severe damage to infrastructure, rendering roads impassable and turning residential areas into disaster zones. Many affected individuals found temporary shelter in evacuation centers, where volunteers and charitable organizations continue to distribute aid.

The region’s recovery is just beginning, and returning to normal life will require significant efforts. Nevertheless, Octa has expressed hope that Kelantan’s residents will soon be able to return home and restore their daily lives.

“We hope that the people of affected communities will return home as soon as possible and that normal life in Kelantan will be restored soon,” Octa stated.

The collaboration between international and local organizations, such as Octa and Azeehan, highlights the importance of joint efforts during crises. Despite the scale of the disaster, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and relief workers, life in Kelantan is gradually returning to normal.
