IG Securities, the Japanese division of brokerage firm IG Group, has announced that it will be changing trading conditions for certain currency pairs.

Effective June 19, 2023, IG Japan will increase the maintenance margin rate for holding positions on ZAR pairs from 5% to 10%.

The application of the new maintenance margin rate will apply only to clients' unregulated positions, according to the FNG information portal.

The broker draws the attention of its users to the fact that if they have open positions in these instruments, they need to make sure that they have sufficient funds in their account to meet the new maintenance margin requirements and avoid losses.

We have previously reported that the IG provides a chart to estimate the cost of holding a position.

Founded in 1974 by Stuart Wheeler, IG Group has a market value of £2.9 billion and offers clients trading on 17,000 investment markets. IG is regulated by the FCA, the UK's financial regulator.
