Broker eToro has opened access to extended hours for stock trading for its clients. This will allow investors to buy and sell 30 U.S. stocks after hours.

The service, which covers the pre-market, provides an opportunity to react to after-hours events such as earnings reports and key macroeconomic data.

The tool is accessed through a separate instrument as a contract for difference (CFD), according to the FNG portal. The new feature will provide investors with an additional three hours of investment time each day.

It's worth noting that the extended-hour instruments are CFDs, so there is no cost differential compared to regular hours. However, spreads are directly related to trading liquidity.

Ten stocks are initially available to investors: Tesla, Amazon, Apple, Nio, Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet, Nvidia, GameStop, and Netflix.

"Because U.S. companies release earnings and news after market hours, there can often be significant price movements before the market opens. Pre-market trading allows retail investors to get ahead of the market or enter the market early and protect themselves from market gaps by hedging," said Dan Moczulski, Managing Director of eToro in the UK.

Earlier, eToro reported on the most popular stocks in the second quarter.
