Interactive Brokers has opened access to the Taiwan Stock Exchange for its clients, allowing them to invest in one of Asia's largest markets.

Interactive Brokers clients who qualify can now trade Taiwanese stocks, ETFs, and TDRs alongside global stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, funds, and other assets on the broker's universal platform, according to the Businesswire portal.

"Access to the Taiwan Stock Exchange strengthens Interactive Brokers’ presence in Asian markets and enhances the company’s global footprint," said David Friedland, Head of APAC at Interactive Brokers.

Access to the Taiwan Stock Exchange is targeted primarily at investment managers and professional retail investors interested in emerging Asian projects such as energy storage, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors.

In addition, long-term investors may be attracted to new stocks on the Taiwan Stock Exchange that offer high dividend yields.

It is worth noting that commissions on Taiwanese stocks range from 0.03% to 0.08% of the trade value plus third-party tiered pricing fees, depending on monthly volume.

It was previously reported that Interactive Brokers reported net revenues of $1 billion for the second quarter of 2023 and $1.064 billion on an adjusted basis.
