Interactive Brokers has announced changes to its options trading.

Users can now choose from four available options trading permission levels to maximize their trading strategies.

According to details posted on the FNG website, Level 1 authorizes strategies with secured orders. Level 2 is everything the first offers, plus covered options positions such as long calls/puts, straddles/strangles and protective calls/puts. Level 3 allows everything in levels one and two, plus option strategies that limit the maximum potential loss, such as short puts and short, long, or unbalanced butterflies. Level 4 allows all option strategies.

Previously, users who had the ability to trade all options were eligible for Level 4, while those with limited options were eligible for Level 3.

In addition, the broker's U.S. options trading clients can now instantly route their options orders to IBUSOPT to participate in retail options order flow for U.S. equities and indices.
