​Trading and investment platform eToro has teamed up with Google to launch a groundbreaking advertising initiative, becoming one of the first global brands to use Google DeepMind’s Veo 2 video generation technology for a full-scale campaign.

This innovative project marks a new era in AI-powered generative storytelling, redefining how brands engage with audiences through digital media.

Veo 2, recently introduced to the public, uses advanced artificial intelligence to create cinematic-quality videos from simple text and visual prompts. The technology replicates realistic motion, physics, and human-like behavior, unlocking creative possibilities previously out of reach. eToro’s campaign, built entirely using Veo 2, is one of the first of its kind and sets a new benchmark for AI-driven advertising.

Creative execution and strategic vision

The creative development process was led by eToro’s in-house team in collaboration with renowned AI video expert László Gaál. Known for his groundbreaking work in AI-generated content, Gaál played a key role in visualizing the eToro brand through two dynamic 30-second commercials. The campaign blends technical expertise with artistic expression, pushing the boundaries of modern advertising.

Cultural context and expansion plans

The campaign was initially launched in the Italian market and takes into account local consumer trends. According to a recent ACRI survey, young Italians primarily save for travel and large purchases, while only 10% focus on long-term wealth accumulation. In response, eToro’s ads depict dreamlike scenarios—such as driving a sports car through the Tuscan hills—to reflect short-term aspirations while emphasizing the importance of investing in the future.

The campaign is already live across Italy on YouTube, television, CTV, and outdoor screens, with plans to expand into other key markets where eToro operates. This is more than just an ad campaign—it’s a bold step toward a new era of AI-powered brand engagement.

As a reminder, eToro recently made another bold move by expanding its list of available digital assets to include 29 new cryptocurrencies.
