MetaQuotes to end support for older MetaTrader versions in July 2025

MetaQuotes, a developer of software solutions for financial markets, has announced that it will end support for outdated versions of its MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 trading platforms starting July 1, 2025. This decision affects all desktop users worldwide, as terminals running older builds will no longer be able to connect to broker servers after that date.
According to the statement published on the company's official website, the minimum supported versions will be:
• MetaTrader 4: Build 1440, released on February 21, 2025
• MetaTrader 5: Build 4755, released on December 13, 2024
MetaQuotes strongly encourages users to update their terminals in advance, noting that each new version brings important performance enhancements, security improvements, and bug fixes. Failure to update in time may lead to technical issues, limited functionality, or complete loss of access.
Recent platform updates and stability
Over the past few months, MetaTrader 5 has received several significant updates. Build 4620 expanded OpenBLAS support and fixed issues related to tick history. Build 4730 brought overall performance enhancements, while the latest version, Build 4755, addressed bugs in the Strategy Tester and introduced broad system-level optimizations.
Although MetaTrader 4 is no longer being developed in terms of new features, the platform continues to receive critical updates to improve stability and strengthen security—particularly for the Market service. Build 1440 is currently the most recent version and ensures reliable performance for millions of users worldwide.
Strategic importance of the update
MetaQuotes’ decision aligns with its long-term strategy to support modern, secure, and high-performance trading solutions. Ending support for outdated builds allows the company to reallocate resources toward the development of current technologies for traders and financial institutions.
Traders and brokers are advised to check their terminal versions in advance. Updating by July 2025 will help prevent disruptions and ensure continued access to the full functionality of the MetaTrader platforms.
