eToro and Franklin Templeton launch target-date investment portfolios

eToro and Franklin Templeton launch target-date investment portfolios eToro simplifies long-term investing

eToro, the global online trading platform, has partnered with Franklin Templeton, a world leader in asset management, to launch six new investment portfolios aimed at supporting long-term financial planning. The joint initiative introduces a series of target-date portfolios designed to simplify goal-based investing for eToro users.

According to a statement published on the company’s website, the new portfolios are built to adjust over time based on the investor’s time horizon. Target dates are set for 2028, 2030, 2033, and 2035. As the target year approaches, the portfolios automatically shift their asset allocation—reducing equity exposure and increasing allocation to fixed income—to provide a gradual transition from growth-focused strategies to capital preservation. Thanks to this automatic rebalancing, investors are not required to manage the portfolios manually.

Portfolio structure and options for different strategies

Each portfolio incorporates Franklin Templeton’s strategic asset allocation expertise and includes diversified ETFs across various sectors and global regions. For investors with different risk appetites, two additional options are available: FixedIncome-FT, which maintains a 90% allocation to fixed income and 10% to equities, and Equity-FT, a 100% equity portfolio that does not reduce risk over time.

eToro CEO and Co-founder Yoni Assia emphasized the importance of offering simple tools for goal-oriented investing. “We’re excited to introduce this new suite of target-date portfolios in partnership with Franklin Templeton’s asset allocation expertise. Whether you’re investing to buy a home or build long-term savings, target-date portfolios offer a hands-free way to help you stay on track with your financial goals,” he said.

Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson expressed similar enthusiasm: “We are excited to partner with eToro. By combining our deep expertise in target-date ETF portfolios with eToro’s cutting-edge social investing platform, we are able to offer outcome-based investment solutions to a broader audience, including digital-native younger investors.”

Investment terms and strategic significance

The minimum investment amount is $1,000. As part of a promotional campaign, users who invest at least $2,000 in the Target2030-FT portfolio between July 1 and December 31, 2025, will receive capital protection, provided they hold the investment until June 30, 2030.

The launch of these portfolios underscores eToro’s commitment to expanding access to long-term investment solutions, while also reinforcing Franklin Templeton’s position in digital wealth management through innovative partnerships.

Previously, eToro also introduced a new Visa debit card for its European users, offering rewards on everyday spending.
