Broker ACY Securities has announced the appointment of Dr. Nedal Alchaar as Chief Economist for the Middle East and North Africa.
Alchaar has extensive experience in financial markets and institutional knowledge and is a specialist in Islamic finance.
Prior to joining the ACY Securities team, Dr. Alchaar served as Minister of Economy and Trade in Syria and Adjunct Professor of Economics and Finance at George Washington University. He has also authored books and academic articles on banking and financial markets, with a focus on Islamic economics and finance, FNG reported.
Dr. Nedal Alchaar is also the recipient of many prestigious honors and awards, including the H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Prize for Banking Excellence, the title of one of the most influential businessmen in the Arab world by Arabian Business, and two nominations for the Nobel Prize for his outstanding contribution to Islamic economics and finance.
