Interactive Brokers adds AI-powered insight tool for thematic trading
IBKR boosts research with AI
Interactive Brokers, a leading global online broker with an automated trading platform, has launched Investment Themes — a powerful investment idea discovery tool that helps traders and investors transition more quickly and precisely from market trends to actionable strategies.
Developed in collaboration with Reflexivity, the tool leverages advanced artificial intelligence and knowledge graph technology to map relationships between companies, products, sectors, and regions across the entire S&P 1500 universe, according to Business Wire.
Functionality and analytical capabilities of Investment Themes
Investment Themes is available across all IBKR trading platforms and significantly streamlines the research process for users interested in exploring promising market topics such as “Generative AI” or “Nuclear Energy.” Users don’t need to know specific ticker symbols or understand industry details — entering a theme generates a list of related public companies, their competitive environment, and geographic revenue distribution.
The tool is based on a proprietary scoring system from Reflexivity, which incorporates around 500 business areas and economic trends. The model evaluates revenue share, strategic importance, and capital expenditures to determine a company’s involvement in a particular theme.

Each S&P 1500 stock now includes an Investment Themes tab within the Fundamentals Explorer. Interactive Brokers users gain access to interactive maps of products, competitors, and industry connections, along with tools for analyzing regional risk and growth potential.

Investment Themes is currently available in beta and offered free of charge to IBKR clients worldwide through Trader Workstation, IBKR Mobile, and IBKR Desktop. The tool enhances IBKR’s suite of analytical resources.
Earlier, Interactive Brokers also launched IBKR InvestMentor to promote financial literacy.
