Korean cryptocurrency exchange GDAC has been attacked by hackers who managed to seize digital currencies worth $13 million, which is about 23% of the total assets on the platform.

According to Seung Hwan Khan, CEO of GDAC, the stolen assets include 60.8 BTC, 350.5 ETH, 10 million WEMIX and 220,000 USDT, equivalent to $1.7 million, $652.8 million, $11.8 million and $220,000 million, respectively, as of April 10, 2023. A total of $14.2 million in assets were stolen by the hackers.

Due to this breach, the cryptocurrency platform suspended the withdrawal of funds and deposits and conducted all necessary legal procedures, according to the GDAC's official website.

The cryptocurrency platform also requested the cooperation of asset issuers, exchanges and decentralized financial managers to freeze assets and block deposits from the address from which the withdrawal was made.

The exchange conducts quarterly financial due diligence with a third-party accounting firm to ensure client assets are protected.
