NordFX to end support for older versions of MetaTrader 4 and 5 in December 2024

NordFX, a well-known global forex broker, has announced the termination of support for older versions of the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platforms starting from December 1, 2024. This decision aligns with the latest update from MetaQuotes, the developer of these widely-used platforms, signaling a transition to more advanced versions.
From December 1, the minimum supported versions will be MT4 build 1420, released on May 24, 2024, and MT5 build 4410, released on June 21, 2024. Users running older builds of these platforms will no longer be able to connect to NordFX servers. As a result, traders using these platforms must update their software to maintain uninterrupted access to their trading accounts and broker services.
The broker emphasized that upgrading to the latest versions is crucial for traders to benefit from enhanced platform stability and performance. According to NordFX, each new version of the trading software introduces technical improvements that collectively improve the overall functionality and reliability of the platforms. These updates help prevent potential technical issues that may arise from outdated software, offering users a smoother and more efficient trading experience.
To check the current version of the trading platforms, users can go to the application's main menu and select Help > About. This will display the version number of the installed MetaTrader software. Those who have not yet updated can download the latest versions of MT4 and MT5 directly from the official NordFX website.
MetaQuotes, the developer of the MetaTrader platforms, initially announced this change on October 22, 2024. The company noted that older versions of the platforms would no longer be supported after December, marking an important update for both brokers and traders. This move is part of MetaQuotes' broader strategy to encourage the adoption of newer versions that offer better security, more features, and an improved user experience.
For traders using NordFX, upgrading to the latest versions of MT4 and MT5 is essential not only to maintain access to their trading accounts but also to fully take advantage of the new technical enhancements. NordFX has urged its clients to act promptly to avoid any disruptions and continue trading using the most up-to-date tools available.
NordFX’s latest initiative further demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing its users with the best trading opportunities. Earlier, the broker issued a series of recommendations aimed at diversifying crypto portfolios.
