Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced that it has expanded its services to clients in Singapore.

The decision is related to the cryptocurrency exchange's goal to strengthen its international presence following the controversy with U.S. regulators.

Coinbase has received approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to provide services as a primary payment institution, as well as a license to operate an international exchange outside of Bermuda, which will allow it to offer derivatives trading, The Block reported.

The cryptocurrency exchange allowed its clients in Singapore to buy USDC for SGD for free. This will allow them to earn rewards for storing USDC on the platform, as well as allow experienced traders to trade more than 200 assets for USDC.

Coinbase has also opened access to ETH, SOL, ADA, ATOM, and XTZ listings.

We previously reported that Coinbase was considering the UAE as a key hub in the Middle East.

Coinbase is an exchange that serves users from more than 100 countries and has more than 43 million active clients. The platform offers unique educational programs for novice traders and provides a high level of security, with FDIC insurance covering up to $250,000.
