Avalanche rolls out Visa crypto card with zero conversion fees for users

Avalanche Foundation and fintech company Rain are launching a payment card integrated with Visa. The card enables both online and offline transactions without requiring cryptocurrency conversion into fiat.
According to Finbold, the Avalanche card, available in both physical and digital formats, allows users to make purchases using their crypto assets anywhere Visa is accepted.
Currently, the card supports USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), Wrapped AVAX (wAVAX), and AVAX.
The card was first announced in October 2024 when Avalanche promised 24/7 dedicated support and seamless transactions via popular mobile apps.
A convenient alternative to bank cards for non-sanctioned countries
With the Avalanche card, users can now make international transactions without conversion fees, offering a convenient and secure alternative to traditional payment methods in regions with unstable or limited banking infrastructure.
This launch aligns with Avalanche's broader goal of promoting global adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions.
The card includes features such as spending alerts, freeze and unfreeze options, and PIN changes.
Residents of Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America are promised an expedited registration process. However, citizens of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Russia, North Korea, Syria, and Iran, as well as residents of Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk, are ineligible for the card.
