Bitget re-enters UK crypto market with expanded offerings and compliance focus Bitget re-enters UK market with expanded token offerings

After a six-month break in operations in the UK, cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has officially returned to the British market, offering an expanded token selection and a strong commitment to regulatory compliance.

This time, Bitget has ensured full adherence to local regulations, including the Financial Promotions Regime (FPR), which has reshaped the regulatory landscape for crypto companies operating in the UK, as reported by CoinGape.

In early May 2024, Bitget informed its UK users that it would "temporarily restrict registrations" in response to new regulatory changes introduced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). These measures required crypto exchanges to implement stricter marketing and operational standards to comply with the FPR, which aims to enhance consumer protection and market transparency. Bitget reassured clients, promising to return with a fully compliant platform tailored specifically for the UK market.

On November 12, Bitget fulfilled its promise, re-entering the UK with a robust selection of digital assets and full compliance with FPR requirements.

“Compliance is the foundation of our expansion strategy,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “Entering the UK market under the Financial Promotions Regime allows us to offer users a wide range of digital assets while responsibly navigating the changing crypto landscape.”

Partnership with Archax and strategic market positioning

Bitget’s return is supported by a partnership with Archax, a UK-regulated digital asset platform. This collaboration will allow UK users access to a broad range of crypto trading and custody services, including tokenized real-world assets. The UK-based Bitget platform will feature over 150 cryptocurrencies, surpassing the token variety offered by many global competitors, providing UK traders with a more diversified portfolio.

Julia Loder, Head of Regulation at Archax, commented on the partnership: “We are committed to upholding the high standards set by the FPR, ensuring UK investors have a transparent and secure trading experience.”

With its expanded offerings and a clear regulatory framework, Bitget aims to become a key player in the UK cryptocurrency market, providing British investors with broader access to digital assets while prioritizing regulatory compliance and user protection.

On November 5, Bitget officially launched its coin listing application channel to increase process transparency and offer clear guidelines to crypto project teams.
