Gemini launches Staking Pro service in the UK
Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini announced the expansion of its services in the United Kingdom.
On June 23, Gemini officially announced the launch of its Staking Pro service in the UK, which allows institutions and high-net-worth individuals to become Ethereum validators by staking a minimum of 32 ETH.
According to Gemini's website, UK users can already stake ETH on Gemini's web interface, with in-app support coming soon.
Gemini's Staking Pro service is already available in the United States (excluding New York City), Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, and more than 30 other countries.
Key benefits of Staking Pro:
- Full control over your Ethereum validators: Gemini will set up custom Ethereum validators for each Staking Pro client.
- Validator transparency: Access and audit information on each of your validators using monitoring tools.
- Segregated reward addresses: Staking rewards will be credited to a separate ETH address. You also have the ability to withdraw your rewards or all of your ETH at any time.
It's worth noting that staking services are not regulated by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority, but the exchange's website states, "Gemini will reimburse you for certain fines imposed in connection with staking.
"We are thrilled to continue providing avenues for users around the world to participate in the blockchain ecosystem as we advance our mission to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom," the exchange said in a statement.
Cameron Winklevoss, one of the co-founders of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, earlier stated on social media that a "great accumulation of bitcoin" had begun.
