Solana Mobile begins testing Seeker smartphone, shipping expected in summer 2025

Solana Mobile, the division responsible for producing smartphones adapted for Web3 and the Solana blockchain, has announced the start of testing for its second-generation device, Seeker, with shipments expected to begin this summer.
The launch of the Solana Seeker, an Android-based smartphone, was first announced last fall at Token2049 in Singapore, where it already gathered around 140,000 pre-orders.
A crypto-friendly smartphone for the Solana
The key feature of the Seeker is its adaptation for decentralized applications (dApps). The device will integrate a crypto wallet, gaming console, and trading platform, allowing users to interact quickly and securely with over 2,500 dApps in the Solana ecosystem.
Compared to the first-generation Solana Saga, the Seeker is expected to offer enhanced functionality and design. Additionally, the Solana Mobile Stack (SMS)—a specialized toolkit for Web3—will simplify the development and use of decentralized applications on mobile devices.
"Seekers have entered the testing phase. Shipping will begin in summer 2025. You will be able to confirm/update your shipping address soon. Stay tuned for more updates," Solana Mobile announced on X.

Currently, pre-orders for the Seeker are open on the Solana Mobile website with a required deposit of $500. It is unclear whether this amount represents the full price of the smartphone. However, Solana co-founder and Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko has previously stated that Solana Mobile aims to promote crypto adoption while keeping its devices affordable.
As we wrote, Solana has turned five. In such a short time, the project has managed to break into the top ten most popular cryptocurrencies. However, it has long since evolved beyond just a digital asset—it has become a full-fledged ecosystem that has experienced both highs and lows.
