Pump.fun expands Solana presence with native PumpSwap DEX launch

Pump.fun expands Solana presence with native PumpSwap DEX launch Pump.fun native PumpSwap DEX launch

Pump.fun, the widely known meme token launchpad, has unveiled its native decentralized exchange, PumpSwap, in a bid to strengthen its presence within the Solana ecosystem.

The new DEX will enable direct listings for tokens launched on Pump.fun, eliminating the need for migration to third-party platforms like Raydium, according to the Cryptopolitan.

Seamless token transitions and new revenue opportunities

One of PumpSwap’s key innovations is the ability to migrate tokens automatically once they complete their bonding curve, addressing previous delays that often hampered trading momentum. The exchange will operate with a 0.25% transaction fee, with 0.20% allocated to liquidity providers and 0.05% retained by the protocol.

Notably, Pump.fun has hinted at a future revenue-sharing model, which could allow token creators to earn a portion of trading fees—an incentive absent in earlier iterations of the platform.

Despite this, the platform remains under scrutiny, with some in the crypto community arguing it extracts more liquidity than it generates.

Strategic partnerships and competition in the market

PumpSwap launches at a critical moment for Solana’s trading landscape, just as Raydium introduces its own meme token platform, LaunchLab. To further bolster its market position, Pump.fun has partnered with TRON DAO, which aims to expand its footprint on Solana.

The move comes amid a downturn in Pump.fun’s trading activity, with daily fees dropping from a peak of $13 million to just over $1 million. Whether PumpSwap will reinvigorate interest and drive higher liquidity remains to be seen.

Recently, Pump.fun co-founder Alon denied rumors of a token launch and IPO, calling the reports “wrong.” He urged users to ignore unofficial news after leaked documents claimed plans for a 420 million token issuance.
