DeltaPrime sets deadline for hacker to return $4.8M stolen in November breach

DeltaPrime sets deadline for hacker to return $4.8M stolen in November breach The recent attack on DeltaPrime is the second one since September

The decentralized finance platform DeltaPrime, which was hacked for $4.8 million on November 11, has issued an ultimatum to the hacker.

The hacker must contact DeltaPrime by no later than 8:00 AM Central European Time on November 14 and start negotiations to return the stolen funds. If communication does not begin by that time, the incident will no longer be treated as a white hat hack, and DeltaPrime promises to escalate the situation.

In a message to the perpetrator, DeltaPrime co-founder Gavin Hasselbank warned the hacker that he has several leads on their true identity, and refusal to engage in dialogue will result in legal action and identification of the perpetrator.

Immediately after the hack, the protocol co-owner sent a message to the presumed hacker, but they either chose not to respond or decided to delay communication.

North Korean trace?

Previously, blockchain detective ZachXBT pointed out that DeltaPrime had hired North Korean IT specialists for its development. However, the analyst noted that all flagged employees were later dismissed, leaving unanswered questions about any link between the hack and a North Korean connection.

Meanwhile, the recent attack on DeltaPrime is the second one since September of this year, when hackers exploited weak private key security to steal $6 million from the platform.
