PNUT meme coin capitalization surpasses $1.5 billion after Binance listing

The market capitalization of the Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) meme coin, created on the Solana blockchain, has surpassed $1.5 billion. This surge occurred just two days after it began trading on Binance.
According to CoinGecko, PNUT’s capitalization jumped to $128 million right after its Binance listing on November 11. Since then, it has grown more than tenfold, reaching $1.5 billion.
At the time of publication, PNUT’s price sits just above $1.5, with its peak reaching $1.71.
What is PNUT?
The PNUT token was created as a meme inspired by the story of a squirrel named Peanut, who was taken from its owners and euthanized by New York authorities, sparking an outcry on social media.
The coin was launched on the platform pump.fun as a symbol of support and protest against these actions. PNUT's price spiked after Elon Musk posted on social media platform X, where he criticized the government’s actions.
As a reminder, the market capitalization of the PNUT meme coin, inspired by the euthanized squirrel, has surpassed $120 million.
