Bitget, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced its official sponsorship of professional driver Flávio Sampaio for the 2025 Porsche Cup Brasil.
This marks the first time a crypto exchange has sponsored a driver in Latin America’s top Grand Touring motorsport series, according to Crypto News.
The Porsche Cup Brasil, widely regarded as the region’s premier GT competition, will kick off its 2025 season this April. Sampaio’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will sport Bitget’s signature black and cyan blue livery, symbolizing the company’s high-performance trading engine and commitment to innovation.
Bridging motorsport and crypto
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen described the partnership as a strategic step toward expanding crypto adoption in Brazil, a market that has seen surging interest in digital assets. “Aligning with a motorsport professional for a series known for its precision and competitiveness allows us to engage with an audience that values both technological advancement and calculated risk-taking,” said Chen.
Driver Flávio Sampaio expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting shared values between motorsport fans and crypto investors. “The profile of sports fans often has similarities with that of crypto investors. I believe we can create an interesting connection between these two worlds,” he said.
The move comes as Brazil continues to embrace crypto at both grassroots and institutional levels. In 2024, the country ranked second in Latin America for crypto transaction volume, according to Chainalysis.
A new bill introduced recently may allow workers to receive up to 50% of their salary in crypto, underscoring the asset class’s growing mainstream relevance.Bitget’s sponsorship could mark a new era of crossover between digital finance and traditional sports entertainment in the region.
Meanwhile, Brazil has solidified its status as a global leader in crypto, with 26 million citizens—12% of the population—owning digital assets. This ranks the country sixth worldwide in crypto adoption, highlighting its growing impact in the sector.
