Binance has appointed new General Counsel

Crypto exchange Binance announced the appointment of Eleanor Hughes as the company's General Counsel.
In her new position, Eleanor Hughes will be responsible for the exchange's global legal affairs. In addition, she has 85 experienced legal professionals on her team. Her main focus will be to work with the Binance team on the development of the global Web3 industry, as well as cooperating closely with regulators in many countries.
Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, said that over the past two years, Hughes has faithfully performed her duties and become a trusted legal advisor. The company greatly appreciates her deep industry knowledge, experience, and excellent work ethic. He is confident that with Hughes, Binance's legal team will continue to thrive and fulfill its core mission of protecting users and managing risk.
It is worth noting that Eleanor Hughes joined the team in November 2021. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to oversee matters in the APAC and MENA regions. There, she specialized in regulatory affairs and oversaw mergers and acquisitions. Thanks to Hughes, Binance has obtained licenses in Bahrain, Dubai, and New Zealand.
Eleanor Hughes has practiced law for over 15 years and was educated at the University of Cambridge, where she graduated with honors. Prior to joining Binance, Ms. Hughes worked for over 10 years at various law firms in litigation and dispute resolution.
