Bybit expands beyond crypto with U.S. stocks like Apple and Microsoft

Bybit expands beyond crypto with U.S. stocks like Apple and Microsoft Bybit users will soon be able to trade top U.S. stocks

In a significant expansion beyond its core crypto offerings, Bybit is preparing to roll out trading for U.S. stocks, commodities, and indices by the end of the second quarter of 2025.

The move, announced during livestream by CEO Ben Zhou, marks Bybit’s formal entry into the world of traditional finance, blending crypto and conventional asset classes under one roof.

Bybit users will soon be able to trade top U.S. equities such as Apple, Microsoft, and Strategy, alongside commodities like gold and oil, and prominent indices, all integrated within the platform’s existing trading infrastructure, including MetaTrader 5.

Expanding beyond crypto

The addition of U.S. stocks and commodities is part of Bybit’s broader vision to become a multi-asset trading hub. The integration with MT5—already known for advanced trading tools and support for leveraged trading—will streamline the user experience by keeping all asset classes within a single ecosystem.

This aligns with an emerging trend: while traditional brokers like Robinhood incorporate crypto offerings, crypto-native platforms like Bybit are pivoting toward traditional assets, reflecting the convergence of financial services.

Navigating through challenges

Despite its ambitious roadmap, Bybit continues to manage fallout from a major February security breach involving the theft of 500,000 ETH, worth approximately $1.5 billion. Although initially assuring users that losses were covered, Zhou later acknowledged that over a quarter of the assets remain untraceable. This incident raised questions about security and risk management, even as the company pushes toward growth.

Meanwhile, Bybit is enhancing its value proposition through AI-driven features such as CryptoLens and TradeGPT—tools designed to provide real-time insights and in-depth asset analysis.

Bybit’s entry into stock and commodity trading could redefine how investors interact with markets, providing a seamless experience that spans digital and traditional assets. As the platform navigates challenges and capitalizes on cross-market demand, all eyes will be on how it balances innovation with trust.
