Ripple adds first MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin to XRP Ledger

Ripple adds first MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin to XRP Ledger Ripple brings EURØP euro stablecoin to XRPL

Ripple has announced the integration of EURØP, the first MiCA-compliant euro-backed stablecoin, onto the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Developed by Schuman Financial, EURØP marks a pivotal milestone in bringing regulatory-aligned stablecoin infrastructure to the blockchain ecosystem within the European Union.

According to Ripple's press release, this integration positions XRPL at the forefront of compliant on-chain finance and reinforces Ripple’s commitment to enabling real-world asset tokenization and secure payment systems across Europe.

Integration details and strategic importance

The integration of EURØP brings a euro-native settlement asset to the XRPL for the first time. The stablecoin is designed to meet the requirements of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework, which recently became law in the EU. This makes EURØP a standout in the evolving landscape of compliant digital assets.

Martin Bruncko, CEO of Schuman Financial, stated that XRP Ledger’s scale and resilience make it an ideal infrastructure for building the next wave of European fintech innovation. The integration opens the door for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), regulated payments, and enterprise-grade DeFi to flourish within a regulated framework.

Ripple’s expanding role in regulated digital finance

The XRPL, known for its speed, scalability, and low transaction costs, has long been a contender in blockchain-based finance. With this latest step, Ripple moves deeper into compliance-first blockchain solutions, which are increasingly important as global regulation intensifies.

As MiCA sets a precedent for other jurisdictions, Ripple’s early adoption of compliant infrastructure may give it a long-term competitive edge in both institutional and retail financial services.
