ETH stakers can donate rewards to UNICEF via Lido Impact Staking

The UNICEF Venture Fund, a UN-backed initiative supporting children, has joined Lido Impact Staking as a recipient of charitable contributions. This initiative allows ETH stakers to donate part of their staking rewards directly to the Fund's investments aimed at improving the lives of children in low- and middle-income countries.
Through Lido Impact Staking (LIS), ETH holders can stake their tokens and allocate any portion of their rewards to approved social impact organizations. The principal remains untouched, while the staking income generated via Ethereum is automatically redirected to initiatives like those supported by the UNICEF Venture Fund.
A New frontier in crypto philanthropy
According to Cryptopotato, UNICEF’s participation in LIS was made possible by the GSR Foundation, the first institutional donor to stake ETH through LIS and allocate the rewards to the UNICEF Venture Fund.
"This new pathway gives crypto supporters an innovative way to fund technologies that improve children’s lives," said Sunita Grote, Head of UNICEF Ventures.
She noted that the proceeds will support open-source Web3 and AI developers from developing countries whose work benefits the public good.
This creates a sustainable and transparent capital stream to fund innovation in healthcare, education, climate, financial inclusion, and humanitarian aid. For donors, it’s a simple, non-custodial way to contribute without relinquishing ownership of their assets.
