Coinbase launches media campaign in support of crypto regulation legislation

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced the launch of a major advocacy campaign to promote legislation that will bring clarity and regulation to the industry.
The extensive paid media campaign will include advertisements in Washington, D.C., urging cryptocurrency users to contact members of Congress and urge them to pass digital currency legislation.
In addition, the exchange will host a Sept. 27 meeting between executives from cryptocurrency companies and major developers in the digital asset space with U.S. staff and lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Reuters reported.
According to Coinbase statistics, there are approximately 52 million crypto holders in the United States.
The effort underscores Coinbase's desire to create clear and concise cryptocurrency regulation legislation in the U.S. that is not subject to the views and desires of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
According to OpenSecrets, Coinbase has led the industry's advocacy efforts in recent years, spending $3.39 million on lobbying in the 2022 election cycle, far more than any other cryptocurrency company.
Coinbase previously launched the advocacy organization Stand with Crypto Alliance, whose main goal is to encourage the crypto community to actively participate in the U.S. legislative process to shape the cryptocurrency landscape for future generations.
