Celebrity social media hacks continue: ANITA memecoin scams Drake’s fans

Celebrity social media accounts increasingly used to promote fake memecoins
The latest victim of such scams is Canadian rap superstar Drake and many of his 39 million followers.
On Saturday evening, messages began appearing on Drake’s account promoting the launch of a memecoin called ANITA, linked to his tour in Australia and New Zealand, "Anita Max Wynn."
The memecoin was named after Anita Max Wynn, an animated alter ego of the musician. "Max win," a phrase often used by Drake to signify a big win, also refers to his fondness for gambling.
Hackers got the maximum profit
The fake posts also claimed that the memecoin was launched in partnership with Stake, the platform Drake uses for cryptocurrency staking.
Drake’s account was apparently hacked. However, before the posts were deleted, trading volume for the ANITA memecoin reached $5 million.
In recent weeks, similar hacks have targeted accounts of the Cardano Foundation and musicians such as Cardi B, Doja Cat, and Metallica.
A new cyber threat dubbed 'EdtiProAI' is making waves in the cryptocurrency community, targeting users' wallets by exploiting ads on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
The sophisticated malware campaign has already compromised numerous crypto wallets, leaving users vulnerable to financial losses.
