Gemini prepares to expand its Indian market coverage

​Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has announced its plans to expand and strengthen in the Indian market. 

The exchange announced plans to double its headcount in India over the next two years, as well as invest $24 million in Gemini's development center in Gurgaon. 

"We are actively hiring for a number of key roles in our Gurgaon office, including software engineers, technical product managers, people operations and talent acquisition, finance, support, and compliance," said Pravjit Tiwana, CEO of Gemini Asia Pacific. 

"Our teams based in Gurgaon will also be responsible for core platform fundamentals in the areas of compliance, data pipelines and warehousing, security, and payments, complementing our 500+ strong global workforce," he added. 

Gemini is expected to increase its headcount in India from the current 70 to 150. 

The exchange also intends to take advantage of the Startup India program, as Gemini is a startup by nature. 

India is an important market for the exchange's development as it is a leading global hub for entrepreneurship and technology development, Gemini said.
