PancakeSwap reports record trading volume in June

PancakeSwap, a leading decentralized exchange (DEX), achieved an all-time high of $325 billion in trading volume for June, marking the highest monthly figure in its five-year history.
This milestone significantly outpaced May’s $174 billion and propelled PancakeSwap’s total second-quarter trading volume to an impressive $530 billion, more than double the $211 billion recorded in Q1, according to Dune Analytics, reports Cointelegraph.
The rapid growth reflects increasing user engagement and market share as the platform benefits from recent feature rollouts and strategic upgrades.
New features and crosschain trading fuel PancakeSwap’s growth
The surge in trading activity follows the April launch of PancakeSwap Infinity, which introduced advanced tools to improve both trading efficiency and user experience. The upgrade brought lower gas fees, customizable liquidity pools using “Hooks,” and support for new pool types like CLAMM and LBAMM that allow more precise capital allocation.
Chef Kids, PancakeSwap’s head, highlighted that these enhancements have not only lowered development costs for developers but also provided liquidity providers with more capital-efficient solutions. PancakeSwap further expanded its capabilities by introducing crosschain trading on June 11, enabling seamless asset swaps across BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Arbitrum without bridges, and recently launched a v3 liquidity pool on Solana to drive multichain adoption.
PancakeSwap dominates BNB Chain while expanding to other networks
While PancakeSwap has made strides in crosschain trading, the bulk of its success remains concentrated on BNB Chain, which accounted for 96.7% of its Q2 trading volume, totaling $513 billion. DefiLlama data shows PancakeSwap currently leads the DEX market with a 30-day trading volume of $153 billion, surpassing Uniswap’s $83.4 billion during the same period.
Despite currently supporting only nine chains compared to Uniswap’s 37, PancakeSwap is gradually building its presence on other networks, recording cumulative volumes of $29 billion on Base, $25 billion on Arbitrum, and $21 billion on Ethereum. These figures signal that PancakeSwap is steadily progressing in its multichain expansion and positioning itself as a formidable competitor in the broader decentralized exchange landscape.
