SEC secret meeting fuels bullish sentiment around XRP

SEC secret meeting fuels bullish sentiment around XRP XRP holders await SEC’s Ripple lawsuit update

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is set to hold a closed-door meeting on July 10, 2025.

The agenda’s mention of “enforcement matters” has reignited speculation that a breakthrough in the ongoing Ripple Labs lawsuit could be imminent.

Key takeaways

- Closed-door SEC meeting set for July 10: "Enforcement matters" on the agenda spark speculation about the Ripple lawsuit.

- Rumors of appeal withdrawal: XRP community members hope the SEC will end its challenge, boosting XRP’s legal status.

- XRP to be linked to larger financial changes: XRP community remains optimistic.

Closed-door meeting fuels anticipation of legal turning point

The meeting’s official agenda includes "enforcement matters"—a vague yet pivotal term that has led some XRP community members to believe the agency could withdraw its appeal against Ripple, potentially marking the end of a years-long legal standoff.

The news has added fuel to rumors that a weekend announcement may follow, especially if the agency moves to settle or reverse its position. XRP enthusiasts are closely monitoring developments, with some predicting a price surge if the appeal is dropped.

Speculation meets caution as XRP holders await clarity

While excitement builds, legal experts are urging caution. Marc Fagel, a former SEC lawyer, downplayed the potential for a major announcement, emphasizing that such closed-door meetings are common and rarely result in immediate public outcomes. “The SEC isn’t in the office on Saturdays,” Fagel stated, casting doubt on rumors of a weekend appeal withdrawal.

Despite this, the significance of the July 10 meeting is not lost on XRP holders. Many view the event as a potential signal of movement in a case that has loomed over Ripple since 2020, when the SEC first filed suit alleging that XRP is an unregistered security.

XRP price supports the optimistic expectations of traders. At the moment, the price of the asset reached $2.34, up 2.3% over the day.

Ripple’s legal path remains uncertain

As the crypto world watches closely, the upcoming SEC meeting may provide critical insight into whether the agency is softening its stance or continuing its legal challenge. For Ripple, a favorable outcome could clear a major hurdle, potentially opening the door to renewed institutional adoption and market expansion for XRP.

But if no action is taken, it could serve as yet another reminder of the regulatory gray zone in which many crypto assets remain.
