Aptos Labs co-founder Mo Shaikh steps down as CEO

Mo Shaikh, co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, has announced his resignation to "start a new chapter," effective immediately. The company’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Avery Ching, will assume the role of CEO, focusing on advancing the company’s technological capabilities and accelerating product delivery to strengthen the Aptos ecosystem.
Shaikh, who has been instrumental in establishing Aptos Labs as a prominent player in blockchain technology, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to execute the company’s vision. “One of my true passions lies in building companies from the ground up, and we have done that at Aptos Labs,” Shaikh said in a statement on social media. He emphasized that the transition positions the company for continued growth.
Aptos Labs representative shared that Ching will prioritize faster product rollouts and enhanced technological innovation as key components of the company’s strategy under his leadership.
Aptos Labs’ growth and future prospects
Founded to develop the Aptos Layer 1 blockchain, Aptos Labs has seen significant progress in expanding its ecosystem. The firm recently added former Grayscale Investments CEO Michael Sonnenshein and OpenAI Chief Product Officer Kevin Weil to its advisory board.
Despite past legal challenges, including a now-resolved lawsuit involving Shaikh, the company has continued to build momentum. Aptos is recognized for its emphasis on scalability and efficiency in blockchain infrastructure.
The leadership transition underscores Aptos Labs’ commitment to innovation and growth. With Ching at the helm, the company is poised to further solidify its position in the blockchain industry while accelerating advancements in decentralized technology.
