Injective and Sonic unveil crosschain AI platform for tokenized AI agents

Injective and Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) blockchain Sonic are launching the Smart Agent Hub, a crosschain artificial intelligence platform. This hub will enable developers to integrate Solana-based AI agents into Injective’s decentralized ecosystem and monetize these agents through tokenization and fractionalized ownership.
The initial testnet for the Smart Agent Hub is expected in the first quarter of 2025, with full integration planned in phases over the following months. Using Sonic infrastructure and the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC), the hub will connect Injective's WebAssembly blockchain directly with Solana, allowing seamless transfers of Solana and Injective tokens.
AI agents find new growth potential
Injective’s collaboration with Sonic builds on the recent launch of its iAgent software development kit. This toolkit incorporates OpenAI technology into AI agents capable of analyzing data, predicting trends, and executing trades. According to Injective, this innovation aligns with their vision of a Multi-VM future, enabling developers to use various virtual machine technologies to create powerful agents.
With a current market cap of $11.2 billion, the AI agent sector is still in its infancy compared to decentralized finance ($145 billion) and stablecoins ($208 billion). However, the Smart Agent Hub represents a step toward unlocking the potential of AI within blockchain applications.
Injective and Sonic’s efforts are part of a broader trend. Platforms like Coinbase, Near Protocol, and Story Protocol are also exploring AI agent applications in trading, crosschain connectivity, and intellectual property. This competitive push is driving the rapid evolution of AI tools in the blockchain space.Read also: Bybit boosts Grid Bot limits for enhanced trading flexibil
