The head of Binance UK, the British arm of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Jonathan Farnell, has resigned from his position amid continued pressure on the company from numerous financial regulators in the U.S. and Europe.

According to UK company documents and Farnell's LinkedIn bio, he resigned from his position at Binance Markets Limited at the end of September. At the same time, he left a senior position at Binance Europe in June.

Farnell's career at Binance began in 2021 when he was invited to take on a compliance role, but he was later promoted to head of Binance UK, according to The Block portal. In March 2022, Farnell became CEO of Bifinity, a subsidiary of Binance's payments company, while retaining his position at Binance Markets Limited.

Farnell was another of the top executives who left Binance during the year due to multiple lawsuits against the cryptocurrency exchange around the world. Previously, the Head for Eastern Europe, CIS, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand region, Gleb Kostarev, announced his resignation. In addition, Binance's Head of Product and Design Mayur Kamat, Binance's Director of Asia-Pacific Leon Fung, Director of Strategy Patrick Hillman, General Counsel Han Ng, and Chief Business Officer Ibo Ling left their posts.
