Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase will completely end support for the Bitcoin SV (BSV) cryptocurrency on January 9, 2024.

Coinbase sent an email to BSV holders stating that if assets are not withdrawn from the platform by that date, they will be subject to liquidation.

"If you fail to withdraw your BSV funds, Coinbase will liquidate any remaining BSVs in your account," the exchange said in the notice.

Bitcoin SV is a cryptocurrency that launched in November 2018, following the Bitcoin Cash hard fork.

Coinbase delisted Bitcoin subsidiary BSV (Satoshi's Vision) in 2021 after the blockchain behind the coin suffered a so-called "51% attack," which led to the destabilization of the network, Decrypt reported.

It's worth noting that BSV gained immense popularity thanks to the support of Craig Wright, who claims to be the creator of Bitcoin under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

The latest data from CoinGecko showed that BSV is currently ranked 53rd in terms of market capitalization, which is $967 million.
