New Telegram update: TON-powered NFT gifts and verified accounts

Telegram introduces NFT gifts and third-party account verification
Telegram has released its first update of the new year, introducing exciting and useful features. These include a new third-party-supported account verification method and the ability to transform gifts into NFTs.
Gifts for regulators
Third-party verification is primarily aimed at regulatory bodies, allowing them to oversee service delivery processes, including those responsible for procurement.
Accounts verified by third parties will display a new logo next to their names instead of the traditional blue checkmark.
Additionally, Telegram has launched a way to transform gifts into NFTs using customizable backgrounds and icons. Users can send gifts by purchasing Telegram Stars through the app or the Fragment website, connecting their TON cryptocurrency wallets.
These gifts are designed to hold value and can be transferred or sold to other users.
The surge of "tap-to-earn" games on Telegram isn’t just a new genre in crypto gaming but a strategic approach for launching blockchain-based projects, according to Jack Booth, co-founder of TON Society. Booth described tap-to-earn as a “viral mechanic” that enables Telegram games to build massive user bases quickly by incentivizing engagement and distributing tokens through gameplay.
