New Trump NFT collection premieres on Bitcoin Ordinals protocol

New Trump NFT collection premieres on Bitcoin Ordinals protocol Trump launches Bitcoin NFT collection via Ordinals

Donald Trump, the elected President of the United States, has launched a new collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) titled "Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards" on the Bitcoin blockchain, utilizing the Ordinals protocol.

The full collection includes 200 cards, but it debuted with 160 NFTs, with 40 more cards set for future release, according to BeInCrypto.

The cards are available for purchase on the Magic Eden NFT marketplace, where buyers must link their Bitcoin wallets to complete transactions. Announced in January 2024, this initiative marks Trump’s first NFT venture on the Bitcoin network, following earlier projects such as the "Trump Digital Trading Cards" series. The "America First" edition from August 2024 featured incentives such as gold sneakers and exclusive meals with Trump but failed to gain significant traction in the NFT market.

Interest in the new collection and market dynamics

It is noteworthy that 29% of the new "Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards" series have already been minted, indicating investor interest in the collection. The "Mugshot Edition" within the series offers special rewards to buyers who purchase 100 or more cards, aiming to attract bulk collectors.

At the same time, the NFT market continues to face ongoing challenges. Oversaturation remains a key issue, as 98% of collections show little to no trading activity and rapidly lose value.

The future of the NFT market and analyst insights

Despite signs of stabilization at the end of 2024, uncertainties remain. Analysts point to a decline in speculative activity and emphasize the importance of long-term sustainability over hype-driven launches. Trump's latest collection, debuting during this market shift, may provide insights into the evolving appetite for high-profile NFT drops on the Bitcoin network.
