Davos Forum: Special focus on cryptocurrency regulation Davos Forum: Special focus on cryptocurrency regulation

The World Economic Forum (WEF) will begin on January 15 in Davos. As part of the annual meetings, a five-day conference will be held with the participation of representatives of more than 100 countries, major international organizations, public leaders, and entrepreneurs.

It is reported that the WEF 2024 conference, titled "Rebuilding Trust," will focus on the development of economic policy against the backdrop of escalating geopolitical tensions and rapid technological progress.

The organizers of the forum have identified six main topics for discussion: economic sustainability, energy transition, globalization, artificial intelligence, strengthening institutions, and women's health. One of the most important topics will be the discussion of the increasing use of cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based technologies, Cointelegraph reported.

In 2024, the development and implementation of regulatory measures for cryptocurrency services will be emphasized. The tokenization of real assets has become widespread, and in this regard, the Forum will host a conference on tokenization, "The Tokenization Economy," on January 17. Tokenization is the process of replacing sensitive data with a unique identifier called a token. The process of tokenization refers to the issuance of tokens based on the blockchain. This means that instead of storing actual data, a code is generated.

Discussions will focus on the key aspects of tokenization, how it can be used, and what the future holds for this technology. Jeremy Allaire, CEO of the USDC issuer, and Denelle Dixon, CEO of the Stellar Development Foundation, will speak at the event.

On January 18, the World Economic Forum in Davos is scheduled to discuss the future of cryptocurrencies and digital assets. The conference will be called "Clear-" and will focus on cryptocurrency regulation, the role of regulators in technological innovation, and comprehensive user protection.
