Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has officially launched its OKX TR platform in Turkey as part of its global expansion strategy.

The company said in a statement that OKX TR, introduced as the Turkish division of the global cryptocurrency exchange, will provide Turkish users with a reliable and interoperable gateway for cryptocurrency trading and decentralized finance, as well as bilingual support in Turkish and English. In addition, OKX TR will offer direct deposits and withdrawals in Turkish Lira through local banking partners such as Fibabanka, VakıfBank, Ziraat Bankası, İş Bankası, Şekerbank, and Türkiye Finans.

Currently, Turkish users can access the OKX Web3 wallet through the OKX Global platform.

Last May, cryptocurrency exchange OKX opened an office in Turkey and began hiring, demonstrating its serious intentions to enter the local cryptocurrency space.

The launch of OKX TR comes amid growing regulatory clarity in Turkey. Previously, Turkish Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that the country is finalizing a cryptocurrency regulatory framework that will significantly improve licensing and operational standards for cryptocurrency exchanges.

All of these steps underscore Turkey's ambition to become the Web3 largest cryptocurrency adoption hub.

"The official launch of OKX TR is an important milestone in our global expansion strategy. With cryptocurrency adoption rates approaching 50%, Turkey represents a very dynamic and promising market for the industry that continues to grow. The high level of community engagement and understanding of digital assets makes it an ideal environment for OKX, and we are committed to contributing to the further development of this already dynamic ecosystem," said Hong Fan, President of OKX.

"The launch of OKX TR is a testament to our belief in the country's tremendous growth potential and our commitment to the market," added Mehmet Çamır, chairman of OKX TR.
