On January 27, Poland installed 10 new crypto ATMs, increasing the total number to 219 active devices. This milestone allowed Poland to surpass El Salvador and secure the fifth position globally in terms of the number of crypto ATMs, behind only the United States, Canada, Australia, and Spain.

According to Coin ATM Radar data, Poland added 24 new crypto ATMs during its four-month-long installation spree, which began in October 2024. Many other countries, including market leaders Canada, Spain, and Australia, continue to see a steady month-over-month increase in the number of active crypto ATMs.

While the United States and Canada dominate the global crypto ATM network with thousands of active devices, El Salvador held third place in October 2022 with 215 ATMs. However, the country has not increased its ATM count since then, which contrasts with the upward trends seen in other major economies.

Meanwhile, Poland continues its rapid expansion in the crypto ATM market, installing 12 new devices in January 2025 alone, with plans to add even more by the end of the month.

Regulators have raised concerns about the potential misuse of these ATMs for money laundering and terrorism financing. However, they remain a key part of the cryptocurrency market's infrastructure.

Currently, approximately 38,100 crypto ATMs are operational worldwide, spread across 65 countries and managed by 356 operators.

Meanwhile, the growth of crypto ATMs in Australia has exceeded a two-year milestone, approaching the scale seen in Europe.
