MicroStrategy announces 10,101 BTC acquisition and STRK securities launch

MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has reinforced its position in the cryptocurrency market with a $1.1 billion purchase, increasing its total holdings to an unprecedented 471,101 tokens.
The acquisition, disclosed by executive chairman Michael Saylor, involved the purchase of 10,101 BTC at an average price of $105,596 each, according to Crypto News.
This latest investment pushes the company’s cumulative Bitcoin expenditure to $30.4 billion, with the total stockpile valued at approximately $50 billion. The purchase occurred as Bitcoin traded around $100,000 following a brief 4% dip on January 27, driven by a broader stock market correction.
Launch of STRK to Bolster Future Purchases
In addition to its Bitcoin acquisition, MicroStrategy announced the launch of STRK, a new mixed securities offering aimed at raising capital for further cryptocurrency investments and corporate operations. This flexible financial instrument allows the company to present a range of securities, including common and preferred stock, under a single filing.
Saylor confirmed that funds raised through STRK will primarily be allocated to Bitcoin purchases, aligning with the company’s ambitious “21/21” plan. Under this strategy, MicroStrategy aims to invest $42 billion into Bitcoin by 2028, solidifying its dominance as the largest corporate BTC holder.
