UAE Ministry of Energy adopts ShibOS for Web3 infrastructure development

UAE Ministry of Energy adopts ShibOS for Web3 infrastructure development Blockchain will save $3 billion

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) signs partnership with Shiba Inu to use ShibOS for government operations

According to a press release, MOEI will utilize ShibOS to develop Web3 solutions in the energy sector, infrastructure, and other areas under the ministry's jurisdiction.

As noted by the UAE's Assistant Minister for Energy and Oil, Engineer Sharif Al Olama, this partnership is crucial for reimagining public services, and the UAE aims to set a global standard for innovation.

"By embracing new technologies, we strive to deliver transformative solutions that benefit both our citizens and the broader community," stated Sharif Al Olama.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu’s lead visionary, Shytoshi Kusama, expressed excitement that the UAE views Shiba Inu as a cornerstone of next-generation infrastructure, calling the signed partnership a "Partnershib."

"This ‘Partnershib’ demonstrates the power of Shib, Bone, Leash, and especially Treat, unlocking our robust Web3 technologies, from AI to fully homomorphic encryption (FHE)," said Kusama.

Multiple projects transform governance and citizens lives

The partnership between MOEI and one of the largest meme coins seeking real-world applications is part of the UAE's broader industry initiatives.

The UAE’s Blockchain Strategy aims to transition half of all government transactions to blockchain technology and is close to saving authorities over $3 billion in transaction and document processing costs.

Among the latest blockchain initiatives are the KYC blockchain platform led by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), powered by Norbloc’s blockchain, and a joint project between Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD) to promote blockchain and AI in real estate management.

As we wrote, a recent survey conducted by eToro reveals that a significant number of retail investors in the UAE plan to increase their cryptocurrency investments in 2025, signaling growing confidence in digital assets.
