Kite AI launches first AI-focused Layer 1 blockchain on Avalanche testnet

Decentralized AI infrastructure provider Kite AI has announced the launch of a testnet on Avalanche for developers working on artificial intelligence solutions.
According to the company, the Kite AI platform ensures fair coordination between data providers, model developers, and autonomous agents. This allows them to collaborate while retaining ownership and receiving rewards for their contributions.

At the core of Kite AI's infrastructure lies the so-called Proof of Attributable Intelligence (PoAI), a consensus mechanism that enables transparent attribution and incentivization of AI contributions.
The platform leverages Avalanche’s scalable infrastructure to facilitate high-speed workload processing, enabling developers to create and deploy AI-based applications without the limitations of traditional blockchain environments.
The Kite AI blockchain integrates four key components: PoAI, a decentralized data access mechanism, a composable AI ecosystem with customizable subnets, and decentralized, portable AI memory.
New financial opportunities for AI application developers
The company has secured funding from top-tier investors, including General Catalyst, Hashed, Hashkey, and Samsung Next. Its infrastructure has been tested by Eigenlayer, Story Protocol, Sui, ZKsync, Polygon, AWS, Stellar, Chainlink, Crypto.com, and other companies.
“We are proud to introduce the first Layer 1 specifically designed for AI on Avalanche. The launch of our testnet not only advances innovation in AI blockchain technology but also represents the next generation of AI-driven infrastructure for Web3 developers. With Kite AI, we are unlocking a programmable AI value chain where developers and institutions can build, collaborate, and scale seamlessly,” said Kite AI CEO Chi Zhang.
He also noted that an increasing number of AI-related projects are emerging on Avalanche. Kite AI is a member of the selection committee for the Avalanche InfraBuidl(AI) program and actively contributes to the growth of the AI ecosystem on Avalanche.
As we wrote, Avalanche (AVAX) is a high-performance blockchain platform designed for creating decentralized applications (DApps) and enterprise blockchain networks. Launched in 2020 by Ava Labs, Avalanche offers a scalable and secure with sub-second transaction confirmation times.
