Analysts predict high odds of XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Litecoin ETF approvals

Analysts predict high odds of XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Litecoin ETF approvals Analysts predict high odds of XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Litecoin ETF approvals

Bloomberg ETF analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas believe there is a strong likelihood that exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Litecoin will be approved. According to their analysis, Litecoin ETFs have the highest chance of approval at 90%, followed by Dogecoin at 75%, Solana at 70%, and XRP at 65%.

Since Donald Trump’s return to the presidency last month, the U.S. government has taken a more pro-crypto stance, leading to a wave of new ETF applications. This shift follows last year’s approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Regulatory landscape and pending approvals

Seyffart and Balchunas noted that before Trump’s election win, the approval odds for these ETFs were below 5%. They believe that ongoing regulatory changes, including SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce’s crypto task force, could clear the way for these new products. However, Seyffart pointed out that XRP’s legal battle with the SEC remains a significant hurdle, and an ETF for the asset is unlikely until the litigation reaches a resolution.

Last week, the Cboe BZX Exchange filed proposals to list spot ETFs for XRP through Bitwise, 21Shares, and Canary. Seyffart expects the SEC to acknowledge filings for XRP and Dogecoin this week, with a broader regulatory framework for crypto products expected by the end of 2025.
