Million on memecoins: Can you get rich with Shiba Inu?

Million on memecoins: Can you get rich with Shiba Inu? Can Shiba Inu make you rich?

Shiba Inu remains one of the most resilient coins in the crypto market. A memecoin that, since its launch, has promised—if not a revolution—then at least a chance to strike it rich, has yet to fully deliver on those promises. It's been several years since SHIB’s last major rally, yet many still believe its greatest achievements lie ahead.

But is it really possible to become a millionaire with Shiba Inu? And how much would you actually need to invest to turn $1 million into a reality?

From $12 to a million: CoinGecko's report

Back in 2023, CoinGecko published a report that quickly went viral across crypto communities. In it, analysts calculated that investing just $12 in Shiba Inu early on—before the token hit its all-time high in October 2021 ($0.00008616)—could have earned an investor a full $1 million.

Some investors really did hit the jackpot. In 2021, Shiba Inu surged more than 49,000,000%, sparking a wave of interest in a token many had previously dismissed as just a parody of Dogecoin.

How much would you need to invest today to earn $1 million with SHIB?

At the time of writing, SHIB is trading at $0.00001336. To reach the $0.0003 mark, it would need to surge by more than 2,100%—a massive yet not unprecedented increase for a cryptocurrency. If you invest $44,500 today, you would receive approximately 3.33 billion SHIB tokens. Should the price indeed climb to $0.0003, those tokens would be worth exactly $1 million. That’s a return on investment of nearly $955,000.

When could SHIB reach $0.0003?

There are plenty of theories. Some analysts believe in a short-term scenario. In an interview with Forbes, CIFDAQ Blockchain Ecosystem chairman Himanshu Maradia stated that SHIB could hit the target price as early as 2025.

ChatGPT “believes” it could happen in 2026. Gemini’s chatbot forecasts December 2025. Meanwhile, Changelly takes a more conservative view, projecting that SHIB may only reach $0.0003 by 2032.

Why do investors believe in Shiba Inu?

Because it’s more than just a token — it’s a phenomenon. SHIB has a loyal fan base, ongoing token burns, ambitious plans for a metaverse, and its own blockchain network, Shibarium. All of this creates a strong sense of community, where you feel like you’re not just investing but participating in something meaningful and potentially revolutionary.

And then there’s the belief in a repeat of past success. Even if the odds are slim, that famous story from CoinGecko’s report — turning $12 into $1 million — still inspires thousands of retail investors around the world.

Is it worth the gamble?

That’s an open question. Most analysts and institutional investors see meme tokens as purely speculative assets with no real fundamental value. SHIB lacks the utility of Ethereum or the stability of Bitcoin. It thrives on community hype, volatility, and belief.

Yet, 77% of SHIB holders have kept their tokens for over a year. These are not speculators — they’re committed holders. Another 21% have held for less than a year, and just 2% are short-term traders. According to IntoTheBlock, these numbers reflect genuine conviction in the project.

Conclusion

In 2025, Shiba Inu is once again in the spotlight. It might just be another hype cycle — or perhaps the beginning of a new chapter in meme economics, where digital jokes turn into real money. Yes, it’s possible to get rich with SHIB — but only if you understand the risks, are patient, and don’t invest your last dollar. Memecoins can create millionaires, but only for those who stay calm, while others merely dream.
