Startup Together AI reaches $3 billion valuation after new funding round

Startup Together AI reaches $3 billion valuation after new funding round Together AI raises $305M, valuation hits $3.3B amid strong AI demand

AI infrastructure provider Together AI has raised $305 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst and Saudi Arabia’s Prosperity7 Ventures, bringing the company’s valuation to $3.3 billion.

The round also included major investors like Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia Corp., Kleiner Perkins, Emergence Capital, Lux Capital, and Coatue Management — a clear indicator of the continued corporate appetite for artificial intelligence technologies, reports Bloomberg.

Together AI offers developers a comprehensive platform that provides access to a wide range of open-source AI models and the computing power necessary to build and deploy sophisticated AI-driven applications.

The company’s infrastructure brings together Nvidia-based data centers, high-performance computing clusters, and advanced software layers, creating a seamless environment for businesses looking to integrate AI solutions.

This combination of hardware and software simplifies the often complex and resource-intensive process of developing and scaling AI systems. By offering end-to-end services, Together AI enables its clients to bypass the usual hurdles of infrastructure setup and focus on innovation.

“Our infrastructure allows customers to get up and running really quickly,” said Vipul Ved Prakash, CEO of Together AI. “We provide not just the models and the computing power but also the tools and services necessary to build cutting-edge AI applications efficiently and at scale.”

Explosive Growth and Expanding Capabilities

The company has seen remarkable growth over the past year, surpassing $100 million in annualized revenue, a sharp rise from $30 million in February 2024, according to sources familiar with the matter. Together AI’s platform supports over 200 open-source models, including Meta Platforms Inc.’s Llama and models from Chinese AI startup DeepSeek.

“Open-source AI models drive innovation, and we want to provide access to as many as possible,” Prakash said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. “This technology should be developed transparently — it’s a fundamental tool for humanity.”

The startup’s latest valuation represents a significant jump from its $1.25 billion valuation in March 2024. Together AI plans to use the fresh capital to double its workforce from 160 employees to over 320 by the end of 2025. The company also intends to deploy Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs in its data centers, strengthening its infrastructure to meet the rising demand for AI computing power.
