Telegram integrates Grok AI into messenger

Telegram integrates Grok AI into messenger Telegram partners with xAI to bring Grok chatbot to 1 billion users

Telegram has partnered with Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI to integrate its Grok chatbot across the messaging platform.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced the agreement on May 28, stating that the deal will give over one billion users access to Grok’s AI capabilities, reports Cointelegraph.

In return, Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and equity, plus 50% of the revenue from xAI subscriptions made through the app. The rollout is expected to begin this summer, marking Grok’s first full-scale deployment in a major consumer app.

Grok to power smart features inside Telegram

According to a promotional video released alongside the announcement, Grok will be embedded in Telegram’s search bar and offer advanced AI services. These include threaded conversations, chat summaries, smart editing tools, document digestion, and group moderation.

The integration positions Telegram as a new AI-powered platform, aiming to rival other chat apps in functionality and intelligence. While xAI has not yet independently confirmed the deal, users and analysts anticipate a deeper presence from Musk on the messaging platform.

Toncoin rallies amid Telegram ecosystem momentum

The Grok partnership is part of a broader wave of bullish Telegram-related news. Toncoin (TON), the native asset of Telegram’s blockchain ecosystem, surged over 20% following updates about the Grok deal, BlackRock’s reported participation in Telegram’s $1.5 billion bond sale, and Nikola Plecas’ appointment as TON Foundation VP of payments.

Telegram has deepened its ties with TON this year, officially selecting Toncoin as its exclusive cryptocurrency for app services. TON now ranks as the 19th-largest cryptocurrency, trading at $3.60 with a market cap nearing $9 billion.
